The Sage Knowledgebase
Subscribers to SageCover have access to the Sage Knowledgebase. This contains all product-related information at Sage. This ranges from text documents such as factsheets and userÆs guides through to patches and small utility programs.
In particular, it contains reference information on the various product toolsets: Sage Line 100 DOS Amendables, Sage Line 100 for Windows, Sage Line 50 SDK for both DOS and Windows, and the Sage Contact Manager API. There are also guidelines for developers on how they should approach developing applications including advice on the interface, help systems and testing, plus information on more general issues such as memory usage, using SourceSafe, Sage Line 100 Windows Report Writer and so on.
The Sage Graphical User Interface Guidelines are also part of the Sage Knowledgebase. The guidelines are a specification for all aspects of the interface to Sage software and are an essential resource for all developers.
Aside from development-related documentation, the Sage Knowledgebase contains information that is not connected to the toolsets or application development. This comprises all of the Sage Line 100 and Sage Line 50 factsheets plus a large amount of miscellaneous information such as version change details, sample reports for the Sage Line 100 Report Writer, small utility programs written by SageÆs developer support team, patches, etc.
The Sage Knowledgebase is constantly being added to as new product-related information is produced, and each quarter the contents of the Knowledgebase are available on the Developer Programme CD.
The Sage Knowledgebase is also accessible via the Sage website.
